We are not knocking anyone's grocery run. But if the point of Thanksgiving is the people at the table, a scratch-made dinner that shows up cooked, in the pans it reheats in, from a kitchen that has done this for 45 years is the simplest way to get there.
Three Easy Steps to Turkey on the Table
Order, pick up cold the day before, reheat in the pans it comes in. That is the whole job. Two kitchens, one on each side of Pittsburgh, so the pickup is a short drive whether you are in Robinson or New Kensington.

Heat & Serve Thanksgiving Dinner: The Details
Questions we get every November about how the heat and serve dinner works, what's included and when to pick up.
-
Everything is fully cooked in our kitchen, chilled, and packed in oven-safe pans. You pick it up cold on Wednesday, November 25, keep it refrigerated, and reheat it on Thanksgiving following the printed instructions in the box. No thawing, no brining, no carving a raw bird.
-
Plan on about 90 minutes of oven time for the full meal at the temperature on your instruction sheet, with the sides going in for the last stretch. Start roughly two hours before you want to sit down.
-
The Heat & Serve Dinner includes a whole, uncut, fully cooked Butterball turkey — not a boneless breast or a pressed turkey roast. If you would rather have sliced turkey, add a pan of Sliced Turkey with Gravy or order the Holiday Feast for 15 or more.
-
A whole Butterball turkey, homemade stuffing, two quarts of homemade gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, two dozen rolls, and your choice of green beans almondine, buttered corn niblets, or sweet potato casserole. Pies, extra sides, roast beef and extra gravy are add-ons.
-
It is built for 10 with leftovers. For 11 to 14, add a pan of Sliced Turkey with Gravy and an extra side. For 15 or more, the Holiday Feast at $21.95 per person scales to your headcount.
-
Order online or by phone by Friday, November 20. Pick up cold on Wednesday, November 25, between 10 AM and 4 PM at our Oakdale kitchen (7851 Steubenville Pike) or our Leechburg kitchen (29 Angel Drive). Holiday orders sell out every year.
-
Just an oven and a refrigerator. Everything reheats in the disposable, oven-safe pans it comes in, so there are no dishes to wash afterward either.
A relaxed Thanksgiving, finally
Pittsburgh hosts who’ve handed off the cooking and reclaimed the day.
I will never cook a turkey or entree for a holiday again. The food was delicious. I did not have to cook and clean up the kitchen in advance. I got to spend more time with my guests. Overall, it was a very relaxed holiday compared to past events.
The food is always delicious! Actually, delicious is an understatement! We have used this caterer for Thanksgiving for the last 2 years and we just used them for my son’s first birthday! Wow you guys never cease to amaze us!
Awesome dinner. I wanted to take credit, but everyone loved it so much that I had to tell them I got it from the Cooked Goose! Thank you and Happy New Year!
